The first “exhibition” of Banksy took place on May 31, 2001 in Rivington Street in London. According to Banksy, the inspiration came after a visit to a pub with friends where they talked about how easy it would be to make an exhibition in the middle of London without having to ask anyone’s permission. To do this, he made twelve stencils – one of which was Bulldog Poodle, a hybrid creature with the head of a bulldog and the body of a poodle. Already in his early works Banksy draws attention through these contrasting works to the endless perversion and greed for status of humans which is specifically expressed in animal breeding.

Die Inspiration kam laut Banksy nach einem Kneipenbesuch mit Freunden, als sie darüber sprachen, wie einfach es wäre, eine Ausstellung mitten in London zu machen, ohne jemanden um Erlaubnis fragen zu müssen. Dazu fertigte er zwölf Schablonen an – eine davon war Bulldog Poodle, eine Mischkreatur mit dem Kopf einer Bulldogge und dem Körper eines Pudels. Bereits in seinen frühen Werken macht Banksy durch diese kontrastvollen Werke auf die endlose Perversion und Gier nach Status der Menschen aufmerksam, die sich speziell in der Tierzucht äußert.

D’après Banksy, l’inspiration est venue après une soirée au bar entre amis, au cours de laquelle ils ont évoqué qu’il serait facile de faire une exposition en plein cœur de Londres sans devoir demander une quelconque permission. Il a alors fabriqué douze pochoirs, dont Bulldog Poodle, une créature hybride à la tête de bouledogue et au corps de caniche. Dès ses premières œuvres, Banksy a attiré l’attention, avec ces œuvres contrastées, sur la perversion infinie et la soif de pouvoir de l’Homme, que l’on voit particulièrement dans l’élevage des animaux.

W tym celu stworzył dwanaście szablonów, jednym z nich był Bulldog Poodle, hybrydowe stworzenie z głową buldoga i ciałem pudla. Już w swoich wczesnych pracach Banksy zwraca uwagę poprzez kontrastujące dzieła na niekończącą się perwersję i chciwość w dążeniu do osiągnięcia odpowiedniego statusu przez ludzi, która wyraża się szczególnie w hodowli zwierząt.
