Crude Oils was a “gallery of re-mixed masterpieces, vandalism and vermin” and ranfor a over a week in a small shop at 100 Westbourne Grove, London finishing onMonday 24th October 2005. Admission was free – if you could stand the thoughtof sharing the gallery space accompanied by around 200 live rats. Environmentalhealth officers came out and checked the show and found everything to be in orderdespite the protests from other businesses nearby. The artworks were reworked copies of well known standards of the art world including Monet, Warhol, Jack Vetriannoand Van Gogh – mainly paintings but there were also some sculptures on display too.
Crude Oils war eine „Galerie von neu gemischten Meisterwerken, Vandalismus und Ungeziefer“ und lief über eine Woche lang in einem kleinen Laden in der 100 Westbourne Grove, London, und endete am Montag, den 24. Oktober 2005. Der Eintritt war frei – wenn man den Gedanken ertrug, den Galerieraum in Begleitung von etwa 200 lebenden Ratten zu teilen. Beamte des Umweltamtes kontrollierten die Ausstellung und befanden alles für in Ordnung, trotz der Proteste anderer Geschäfte in der Nähe.Bei den Kunstwerken handelte es sich um überarbeitete Kopien bekannter Standardsder Kunstwelt wie Monet, Warhol, Jack Vetrianno und Van Gogh – hauptsächlichGemälde, aber auch einige Skulpturen waren zu sehen.
