In this artwork, Banksy combines a classic oil painting with a touch of vandalism to create an entirely new pictorial creation. The kitschy depiction of a UFO landing in the impressionistically rendered back-drop obviously mocks established ideas about art and reality as well as speculative and realistic artistic endeavours. The work was first presented in the exhibition “Barely Legal”, 2006. It is a fantastic representation of the fusion of street art, vandalism and what is considered art.
